this will leaving first of next week for the museum in south korea. it was a privilege to be able to work on a phonautograph, i will never see another. there was only one working phonautograph in the world in a museum in France, now there are two. a challenge and a lot of fun. this is going to be a static display behind glass so will probably never be used again. a very fun project and a historic machine. invented by eduard leon scott de'martinville for the study of acoustics.

Hi,

Really cool stuff! Have you tried feeding the recorder with a pure sine wave tone (maybe 200 hz or so) to see if the expected wave shape is being captured?
