How to ERASE a Lathe Cut recording

Anything goes! Inventors! Artists! Cutting edge solutions to old problems. But also non-commercial usage of record cutting. Cost- effective, cost-ineffective, nutso, brilliant, terribly fabulous and sometimes fabulously terrible ideas.

How to ERASE a Lathe Cut recording

Hi all and Happy New Year!
1st of the year and i accidentally erase an embossed recording of my own.
I was trying to fix a center label sticker using a small torch lighter and there it happened. All grooves just disappeared :-(
Today i made some extended research , giving more tries on old (discarded recordings) on transparent and black discs.
Hitting the discs with either Lighter torch and hot-air gun i could measure the temperature where the magic happens!
Up to 80°c grooves seems to be solid & untouched. The red line is between 85-90°c where the grooves suddently disappears!
Looking with just naked eye seems that surface comes back to its original shiny form but looking under the microscope seems that the grooves are not 100% vanished.
Is this the way to reuse discarded discs? Not really as the overall surface of the disc becomes uneven. Even if this can happen and manage to keep the surface extremely flat, will the re-recorded sound be nice? Thats something to chech further :-)
