Homemade vinyl record design.

Anything goes! Inventors! Artists! Cutting edge solutions to old problems. But also non-commercial usage of record cutting. Cost- effective, cost-ineffective, nutso, brilliant, terribly fabulous and sometimes fabulously terrible ideas.

I apologize in advance for the computer translation.
Hello everyone!
I live in Russia, in the city of Kaluga, which is the regional center south of Moscow. I am 68 years old and I am a Russian pensioner. I have two main hobbies in my life. I have been collecting vinyl and classic rock albums all my life. My second hobby is designing vinyl records. I have been working with Photoshop since the beginning of this century. I enjoy converting albums that were only available on CD into vinyl format. I also like to create alternative designs for famous classic rock albums.

About 3 years ago, I saw a contest on the Internet for alternative covers for the Pink Floyd album from 1973. I decided to create a vinyl version of this artwork. I usually make a simple cover, an inner, and two labels. I made the album in a printing workshop and glued everything together at home. I will attach the labels to the vinyl once I find it in good condition.

However, I recently decided to redesign this work to my own design. I picked up a photo of a 1973 concert by the band and placed it on the moon!) At that time, American astronauts were there, and one of them visited the concert.

I prefer to use West German records for alternative record covers. The Germans re-released a lot of albums on vinyl at the time. For later releases, when albums were only available on CD or later as files, I also like to create a vinyl version. I hope that it will be possible to produce high-quality vinyl cuts of these albums, so that the sound is as good as on CD! That's why I registered here! Pink Floyd 1975

That image of the astronaut attending their concert is so funny! Great job on these, they look great. Are you interested in getting your own record lathe?

Thank you for your positive review of my redesign! As for the machine for cutting vinyl records, pensions in Russia are not yet large enough for such purchases!)))

I compiled the Pink Floyd 1977 album from European and Japanese design options.

The last album that I remade to my taste was Pink Floyd 1994. I don't see any point in redoing the rest of the albums. The 1994 album was released that year in a small edition as a single LP. It was recently re-released as a double LP officially. Illegal vinyl versions have been re-released as a single LP. I don't like double LPs, as it's often just a marketing ploy to sell for more. Besides, after switching to the CD format, designers often design vinyl as CDs! The originals of this Pink Floyd album have empty labels on vinyl like on CD! I think this is an outrage and a violation of the culture of vinyl record design! Now they do it very often too - it's very bad! I found a suitable option for normal labels for this record. In addition, I found the source code for a beautiful inner.

Nice work. It's good we can communicate with the internet and computerised translations. How is it in Russia for getting new record pressings (new music or back catalogue recordings)? Can you get music from western artists? Do the sanctions effect the record market? Our leaders don't agree on many things but, it does't mean that we don't have to.
Do people find a way of getting music on record? Is there a black market? Or do people smuggle official releases of records?
I'm English but I live in Bulgaria. I have only one Russian record... Песни - Булат Окуджава

Hi! There are currently two vinyl record factories in Russia, one in Moscow and the other in Yekaterinburg. Our company, Melodia, is currently building a factory in Novosibirsk. The vinyl record market in Russia has only increased in value due to the increased cost of importing records from neighboring countries in the former Soviet Union. Vinyl records are gaining popularity in Russia, and their sales are on the rise. The new vinyl record factories are using the best equipment from China, the Allegro 2. These presses currently produce 25% of the vinyl records in the UK. I am a huge fan of English rock music. I love old classic rock and I really like modern bands from Britain, America, and Europe. As for the future between our nations, I'm confident that things will get better. I have a warm feeling for the English! Although I really love my Russia! My name is Konstantin

Bulat Okudzhava is a famous Russian poet and guitarist. Such performers are called bards in Russia. In his youth, Okudzhava lived in my Kaluga. During the war, he fought on the front. My grandmother's younger brother was also a front-line soldier. He and Okudzhava were great friends. They often drank together at my great-grandmother and grandmother's house on the outskirts of Kaluga. We had a photo of them together, but I haven't seen it for a long time. Then Okudzhava moved to Moscow, but they remained friends. I have an Okudzhava record in my collection, although it is not my music. Okudzhava had several vinyls published in the USSR and later in Russia.

My design for the Deep Purple 1971 vinyl. I saw the back of the vinyl cover on the internet and thought it was funny!)

Today, after many years of searching for the best cover designs for the vinyl albums of the beautiful Russian singer Klavdia Ivanovna Shulzhenko, I have purchased the latest sixth album, the fifth in terms of publication year.
