diy mono cutting head....anyone

Anything goes! Inventors! Artists! Cutting edge solutions to old problems. But also non-commercial usage of record cutting. Cost- effective, cost-ineffective, nutso, brilliant, terribly fabulous and sometimes fabulously terrible ideas.

Edison used Hill and Dale (up and down). The standard was lateral movement of the stylus for mono.

A number of people have made their own cutterheads on the trolls board. The problem is getting good upper frequency response.

That is exactly the problem I ran into. I tried duplicating the head seen here:

Using an old computer speaker as a drive coil. I managed to get one successful emboss out of it and quickly abandoned it after I discovered nothing over 1K had printed.
