1878 tinfoil phonograph recording on copper foil

Anything goes! Inventors! Artists! Cutting edge solutions to old problems. But also non-commercial usage of record cutting. Cost- effective, cost-ineffective, nutso, brilliant, terribly fabulous and sometimes fabulously terrible ideas.

a test of 2" wide copper tape used for shielding in electric guitar pickups. difficult to work with and very easy to wrinkle but makes acceptable recordings that will outlast an aluminum foil recording 10 times. i have gotten 30+ plays using simple copper snail tape from home depot, used as a snail barrier in gardens, expensive and only available in 1" wide rolls, but makes decent recordings.
