STREAMING AUDIO FROM YOUR COMPUTER

Anything goes! Inventors! Artists! Cutting edge solutions to old problems. But also non-commercial usage of record cutting. Cost- effective, cost-ineffective, nutso, brilliant, terribly fabulous and sometimes fabulously terrible ideas.

found a great free stream generator that allows you to stream audio from your computer to the web with decent quality. this is Charlie Daniels, uneasy rider, the long version streaming from an audio file on my computer. a great way to share audio without having to sign up for anything, you can maintain a library and stream it all. seems to work well, easy to configure and has really decent audio. you can embed these files in a webpage and have your own audio streams without having to use a second party server. here is the link to the audio file, as well as the streaming software. this is steaming from a dell computer running windows XP. the same company also offers a video streamer as well. the audio link is a direct recording from the Lp so give the stylus a few seconds to drop.

Hi,

The problem with this is that you need a static IP address to make it work. Not sure about your ISP, but mine does not allow that. That's a deal breaker for me.

Not exactly true. There are ways to link a domain name to a non-static IP Address. You would have to purchase a domain name however.

Search google for "dynamic dns for non static ip"

Or go here for instance http://www.noip.com/
