Sillitoe Lathes

Anything goes! Inventors! Artists! Cutting edge solutions to old problems. But also non-commercial usage of record cutting. Cost- effective, cost-ineffective, nutso, brilliant, terribly fabulous and sometimes fabulously terrible ideas.

Hi Dimi, sorry I missed your post.
Yes the plan is for the system to be switchable between manual and fully automatic...
Still refining stuff but it's coming along nicely.

I'm having lots of fun and learning along the way.

Cheers!

Here is a pic of the insides of my cutting amps.

I have four Caruso boards in there, two for the head and another two setup as phono preamps.

The dual mono power amps are bridged 8PAKAMP boards from JLM Audio.

The power supplies are in another case.

I will be adding switchable VU and peak metering to the top of the enclosure soon.

A huge thanks to Flo and Joe Malone for all of their help.

Will Hulk Underoos do? I have super 8 film of me in those many, many years ago... in a galaxy far, far away. Where Harry Potter used to hang out with Aliester Crowely and they dabbled in The Force to make Warp Drives with the Klingon and Keebler Elves. Magick!

By the way, I love the build.

For automatic and manual or are both functions built in ? Also will you be selling these with caruso pre amp
And cutter head or does the buyer have to buy there own Riaa unit/cutter head/amp ??

Hi Dimi, thanks for the questions.
Both manual and automatic functions are built into the one lathe, easily switchable.
I won't go into detail just yet. I'll save that for a video demonstration. There will also be detailed instructions.

As for heads, it seems to me that the Caruso is the best option for a new head.
The arm is strong enough to support more than 10 Westrex heads, so really anything could be possible with the right suspension setup haha.

It's still early days... I may take a little while, but I will not sell anything that doesn't work as advertised.

Cheers
