Hello friends, I would like to share my humble lathe built with wood and scrap that were lost in the background of some old cabinets . I want to thank all those who lost their precious time and came post their experiences here in this forum . I learned a lot from everyone here , with every mistake and every hit with every successful experience or not , everything here was of great value to me ... so I have to say thank you to all of you ... and I hope you forgive my bad English
The machine was assembled using 12V DC motors with PWM speed control , my future plan to build a new version with stepper motors .
The cutting head is producing good cuts, after many attempts and assemblies with various speakers , I got a very good response using tweeters with iron coil immersed fluíd.I want to buy a good cutting head with feedback and pre Caruso amplifiers.
The needle for now I have learned to make hss steel, still has the background noise , but with a little skill of a jeweler that I was in the past and new polishing materials 'm getting increasingly get close to a silent cut. I have done some experiments to make very hard ceramic needles, which look very promising , but there is still a long way to go , I would buy diamond needles, but at the moment the currency of my parents is very undervalued , which makes things very difficult
