Anything goes! Inventors! Artists! Cutting edge solutions to old problems. But also non-commercial usage of record cutting. Cost- effective, cost-ineffective, nutso, brilliant, terribly fabulous and sometimes fabulously terrible ideas.

Hello, I am new to the forum and my intention is to be able to make my own recorder from scratch, they would recommend me a topic to follow. I would be very grateful ?

hey, welcome to the forum! the search function will be your best friend, the newbie forum, and the "newbie gold" thread
building from the ground up will be difficult but keep in mind the three major areas of a lathe:
a turntable - with maximum torque for working under the head weight, extremely precise speed
a feedscrew drive - to move the cutting head across the disc while cutting, must be extremely fine adjustment
the cutting head - to translate audio onto the disc, high range of frequency response

you'll find many different ideas and methods for all of these areas of a lathe in the forum,
happy searching!
