Making an embossing needle with an air spindle

Anything goes! Inventors! Artists! Cutting edge solutions to old problems. But also non-commercial usage of record cutting. Cost- effective, cost-ineffective, nutso, brilliant, terribly fabulous and sometimes fabulously terrible ideas.

Making an embossing needle with an air spindle

Hi All,

I made an air spindle for my grinder to make super accurate embossing cones.

I don't have a working record lathe. Would anyone like to test one of these for me ?

Your choice of cone angle (its 87 degrees in the video).

Postage costs only (I am in the UK).

Cheers,

Wilson.

Good work! The age and appearance of the machines has nothing to do with the quality. When it is used correctly, as is the case here, and the skill of the craft is present, good things can come about.

Unfortunately, I'm working on a cutter and not on embossing, so I can't test the part either. But it looks good. Keep up the good work Wilson.

Nice greetings from Vienna
Thomas
