Screw playback needles set ?

I just got a Meissner recorder that works great playing back old shellac 78's with standard width steel stylus.
I'm working on installing a modern RIAA decoder so I can play back new records on this machine.
The playback cartridge is an Astatic of some model (don't have the unit here to check).
I am assuming that the shank of the playback needle would need to be the same as the steel needle that already fits into it.
Would the term for this needle be 'set screw' needle?

If you value your records, you won't try that. Also note that the RIAA curve you see published is for a typical modern magnetic pickup. If the Astatic is a crystal or ceramic, that curve does not apply. See the article below with some more info.
