hello. my name is tony and I live in minneapolis. I've been pining for a lathe cutter for some time and finally bought a Radiotone cutter. expect it in the mail soon. I'm sure I'll have lots of questions as far as fixing up and operating the machine, and tips for materials to cut into. can't wait to start making records.
super glad that I found this forum. thanks for putting it together steve. hopefully it will flourish.

Hey everyone, I'm Aaron, I am also from Minneapolis, MN. I ran across this site while I was collecting info about cutters/lathes. I've been designing a lathe, and once I get a few things done in a couple of months, I will begin building it. It's sort of based on the technics attachment type of cutters available. I'm going to try a design for a cutterhead based around ferrofluid tweeters moving the cutting stylus.
It's cool to see all the people on here that are into this sort of thing.

i'm new too
Hello,
I am also just getting into cutting records. I was actually inspired by someone on this site. I got a Twig Harper solo album, and then went to his website, and saw all the things he was doing with his lathe. I had been interesting in cutting for a while, and seeing all the experiments, especially with different materials finally pushed me over the edge to get my own lathe. I just got one on ebay, and it should be coming soon. It is a Bell Sound RC-47 Record-O-Phone, and it comes with a manual and it says some extra needles, but I don't know if those are playback or cutting. If the manual seems good, I can scan parts of it and post it on this forum. I can not wait to try different materials to cut in.

I've posted some posts here but I see I didn't introduce myself...
so... Hello, my name is David!
First I was searching some lathe but I didn't find any site with helpful informations... I almost gave up but then I foudn this forum and I was into digging again. After a year of reading posts here I decided to do it myself...
Now I'm the owner of beautiful Presto 8DG lathe. I want to hook it up with 1D head and 90B amp ... but I still have a lot work to do... and then I have to test it... be sure I'll bug you with all sorts of questions!
But again I must say... without this forum I would still be in my dreams!
Thanx!
