my first experiment directly copying a disc using a direct transfer. i have the turntable plugged into the mixer going direct to the lathe. the results are surprisingly good, obviously an audio file is the best way to cut a disc but i wanted to hear the results of a direct disc to disc transfer. it works, a really interesting experiment...

Supposedly this is the way the first Beatles single in Canada was done - a needledrop of a UK pressing run straight to the lathe, no tape copy in between.
Personally I'd be worried about subsonic signals from record warps making things complicated. I'd probably put a filter in to roll off everything below 30 or 40 Hz.
