PRESTO 6N / DISC TO DISC TRANSFER / FIRST TEST

my first experiment directly copying a disc using a direct transfer. i have the turntable plugged into the mixer going direct to the lathe. the results are surprisingly good, obviously an audio file is the best way to cut a disc but i wanted to hear the results of a direct disc to disc transfer. it works, a really interesting experiment...

I love your constant experimentation. New materials, new media, new signal paths. Keep it up!

Supposedly this is the way the first Beatles single in Canada was done - a needledrop of a UK pressing run straight to the lathe, no tape copy in between.

Personally I'd be worried about subsonic signals from record warps making things complicated. I'd probably put a filter in to roll off everything below 30 or 40 Hz.
