Sad news: Nickou, Yann de Kéroullas, rest in peace

Dear Lathe Trolls,

It is with great sadness that I inform you of the recent passing of Yann de Kéroullas, who posted here as Nickou. He mastered and cut records at Reverse Primecut, in Barcelona, Spain. My understanding is that he was originally from France. He was a quite active participant in this forum for the past four years.

I had been waiting to post this news in the hopes of receiving some better information. I do hope those with more authority than I will step forward sooner or later. All I know is for certain is that he was far too young. I do not believe this was expected.

Nickou, Yann, you will be missed.

Wow, I just exchanged emails with him a few weeks ago. Very sad news. He said he recently got a Telefunken M15 preview deck going. R.I.P.

This is very very sad news and a shock for everybody who knew him.
i heard about Yann's dead a few days ago.
He past away from a heart attack on august 31st.
this is all i know for the moment.
We loose a great friend, a passionate musician, mastering engineer and very active member of this forum.
Yann was one of our first customers and it turned very soon
into a very good friendship. And i ways always grateful about his
input and critical feedback.
He started his cutting room in Paris together with his brother Hervé
and later moved to Barcelona.
Hervé still runs a great cutting room in Paris, dK-Mastering.

I was thinking to myself a couple days back why yann was so quiet. This is a shock. Thoughts are with family and friends. He was always good for a banter.

I've been changing some messages with Yann, although not recently. I didn't know him that well, but he seemed like a nice, passionate guy.

It's quite shocking to read about his passing. It's always so sudden.
