cutting at 45rpm for playback at 78rpm
Just wondered if anyone has done anything like this cutting at 45rpm but slowing down audio so record will play back at 78rpm.
i have calculated i should slow down by 42.3076923077 %
Is this correct i dont have a 78rpm turntable to check and would like to cut a 78 to send as a gift to a friend.
Any help much apreciated.

Hi Stowvinyl,
There are any number of different ways of doing this depending upon what your set up is and where in the world your record is to be played back in.
I'm not sure that your percentage is spot on though... I usually find it simpler to adjust the sample rate of the audio file in my DAW to make it play back slower.
I use these figures:
US (60Hz):
(44100 / 78.26) * 45 = 25358
(96000 / 78.26) * 45 = 55201
EU (50Hz):
(44100 / 77.922) * 45.113 = 25532
(96000 / 77.922) * 45.113 = 55579
EU (50Hz) for US market (60Hz):
(44100 / 78.26) * 45.113 = 25421
RATIOS (50Hz):
77.922 / 45.133 = 1.727
45.133 / 77.922 = 0.579
Does that make sense?

Thanks for the info Sue Denim
im based in the uk and the record is for the USA, my Daw is Logic Pro and there does not seem a way to change sample rate, how do i get the correct percentage think i will have to use varispeed.
Thanks Again!
