Hello everyone,
I did a quick search. I don't think this question was asked as simply before.
There are many members here who have made or are making their own cutting heads.
So I think for eternal newbies like me it would be good to have a topic about how cutting heads work.
I haven't had time to think deeply about all the questions that could be asked but here are some examples :
- From older designs to "modern" designs what are the main parts inside a cutting head? What are their functions?
- How do you connect a cutting head to a lathe? What is important to know about the wiring and the mechanical connection?
- How do different cutting head designs perform? What are the problems one has to face?
- What material can you cut with?
Up to date knowledge and experiments feedback are welcome
Thanks.
Lucien
