Stupid question about a dashpot

Can anyone tell me how a dashpot for a Presto 6N comes apart? Is it pressed on or is it a screw on lid? I need to replace the rubber o-ring/washer in it, since it appears to be totally deteriorated. I don't want to damage it by prying on it if it's not meant to be pried on.

Thank you in advance for your help!

It just pops off. There was never an o-ring on it though. Its probably dried fluid. Soak it in kerosene or put it in an ultrasonic jewelry cleaner. It will come loose.
