VR Dashpot oil
Hello,
what type of oil can I use in my VR?
I found in the forum this one:

Is it Correct?
Thank you

Re: VR Dashpot oil
That will definitely work ok.
Personally, I use a 40 weight (W40) fork oil, but it really doesn't matter too much. Just be aware that the oil's viscosity, and therefore how much damping it provides, will change a little with room temperature. So if you're cutting in a very hot climate, go with a slightly higher weight.

Re: VR Dashpot oil
So in best case we need some oil that does not get affected by the temperature?

Silicon oil is fairly resistant to temperature fluctuations, and can be found in many weights for RC auto shocks and differentials.

I use Motul SAE 50, but as SueDenim said, the viscosity changes with temp and the head can get lighter through the day in the summer out here.
