I brought a atom lathe from Japan the lathe came with 5 blanks, so far so good,i followed a few posts about this lathe, and so far two of the recordings sound very detailed and very clear, compared to a record company pressed record I would give the atom lathe recordings about 9 out of 10,with the Apple Mac and the right software, the correct cutting stylus pressure and the correct recording level this lathe cuts and records very well.so easy to use, ideal for a beginner like me
just thought id pass that information on

Re: Atom A-101
Hi!
I don't usually respond to this kind of posts, but as a former user of the Atom A101 and HARA M180 lathes (both share the same head model), I have to completely disagree with you. Considering that its frequency response is 60Hz to 8kHz, claiming that the cutting quality is so similar to pressed records is, to say the least, quite bold, if not totally innacurate.
But hey, who knows... maybe you have a modified/improved model?
Best regards.
