Does it have all four worm gears? They should be located under the platter.

Hi,
sorry my friends, I missed your posts as I haven't had an email reminder.

It has 3 of the four colored feeders, allready mechanically working, but cutting on external amp temporarily. Actually all complete not to mention the one feeders missing (neutral OI standard groove worm missing).

- The 50hz europe current capstans are going to be custom made next week
- same with motor rewinding within 2 weeks (makes the coil magnet buzzes audible after recording)
- local plexi -PVC factory is going to provide me various materials for recordings tests
- the amp is in service allready, although 100 complete.

Allready purchased another, one Presto K-8 machine will be here with vme within 2 months I believe :)

Just curious why you all independently are asking about the feeders, are they so desirable and rare? Am I luvy guy having three of four ?

I asked to be informative, many folks buying suitcase machines don't know the difference between the K8 and K10 so they don't know they are there. The K10 in general are harder to find, the worm gears were made out of a rather brittle material so finding a machine with all 4 gears in good condition is tough. They were shipped with 1 gear on the platter and the other three mounted to the base.

Yeah, the fourth is probably mounted on the platter shaft.

Those make the k10 a more versatile unit.

Hi, thank you :)

Yes, it has 3 of four gears, all gears VG condition with not play or dents

the 4-th one is missing, but I think in those modern times a good autocad programmist and a cool 3D printer should cope with this issue , if any of us in need of a new feeder.

PS: I've just purchased a Presto K-8 too, will be with me here in Poland within 2 months

:)

PS:
any of you able to track the K-10 production year with only a serial number?
