Howdy Trolls,
I've been a long time lurker here and finally decided I *might* have learned enough to be a useful contributor here, at least in pressing regards.
I'm the Production Manager at Memphis Record Pressing. We've been operational since 10/2014, I've been here in my capacity since July '15. My only background with vinyl prior to hire here was as an avid listener/collector, which only went so far -- that is to say not very far at all -- when it came to learning about the process and our ancient presses.
We run 4 SMT presses (late generation,) 4 Hamiltons (2nd gen I believe?) and one newish franken-press (Hamilton ram, SMT frame) with PLC controls built by Donnie Eastland and Greg Young, two former United veterans.
Don't know if he's active here, but we use a lot of cuts from local lathe tech Jeff Powell.
Glad to finally be a part of this unique community!

Re: Long time lurker, new user (Plant Production Mgr)
Welcome, Brian.
This is the best forum about vinyl records production. I and my colleagues from several GZ departments learned a lot from posts written here.
