Hi!
Today I started cutting with a new stylus, however I'm getting some strange noise, almost like a squeaking sound in the right channel and a bit of distortion in the left and cant seem to trouble shoot it. My old stylus is worn out and this is a brand new one but never had this noise happen before? If anyone can help let me know and I can send a link to a recording of the audio in a PM just in case its something someone with experience can ID, any help would be massively appreciated.
Thanks!

Bump on this.. Having a very similar problem right now.
Sounds like an almost rhythmic sequence of white noise, in one side only.

What kind of disc material? What kind of stylus? What kind of lathe?

Re: Weird 'squeaky' sound in sides?
In the end i sorted it by fully re-calibrating my machine, and haven't had the 'squeaky' sound since. Using VRT560, the issue i think was a slightly off axis top bar making the stylus maybe scrape at a bad angle in places, once i fully got this sorted it stopped.
