Rek-O-Kut Model T-45 Question

Good day Trolls! I hope you, your family and friends are well…

I’m mostly familiar with Presto K8, but have recently received a cutter with a ROK T-45 box that I am unfamiliar with.

Would you happen to have info on what this box does? I see a 500 Ohm and 8 Ohm pair of connects on the top side in the photo. Also, there is a toggle switch that seems to select an input.

Thank you. Image

Hi,

Looks like a matching transformer. I can see what appears to be an 8 ohm tap and a common. Can't see the other terminal markings.

Thanks for the response.

On the ‘red wire’ side there is COM, then a pair for 8 Ohm, then a pair for 500 Ohm.

On the ‘black wire’ side, it says CUTTER.

Hi,

So it is a matching transformer. Do the two black wires go to the cutter head or the power amp output?

Two black wires are going to a Brush Crystal Cutter head.

Is this designed to take a ‘regular’ 8 Ohm signal and make it Crystal-head friendly?

Hi,

I think that's right. I would assume if you measure the DC resistance at the terminals that connect to the head, it will be quite high as compared with the 8 and even 500 ohm taps.
