Hi there!
I'm wanting to reapply grease underneath the platter of my Presto 6N lathe. What type of grease should i use for this? Are there any other parts of the lathe I should use this grease on?
I deeply appreciate everyones help and this website!

Sad no one replied to this. I don’t have a presto but I use gun oil on my turn screw. Thinking about getting a presto you can always reach out to Mike Dixon.

Haven't seen a Presto, but the L. J. Scully platter has an oil well, and the dip stick is parked inside the A-table. It takes SAE 10 (eq. to ISO32) motor oil. I've been using SAE 10 pneumatic lubricating oil, fwiw.
The feedscrew takes no lube on its thread, but occasionally, oil should be added to the pinion bearing via a very small hole on the screw's hub (on the left-hand side) that's only visible once each rotation.

The OP, who has a 6D, states: "The 6N manual recommends 3 in 1 oil."
3-in-1 is supposedly SAE 20 weight. Replies suggest using sewing machine oil, instead.
