Angulo Records lathes of Argentina....wah huh?

Distinct from the "Members Only" section about business disputes, this is a section for those sellers who have distinguished themselves by scamming multiple customers. AND for sellers who have ghosted customers during long delays. If you intend to start a thread here, you must check with Steve E. first -- this forum should only be a LAST RESORT.

Angulo Records lathes of Argentina....wah huh?

I am starting a thread because there's a surprising lack of information about this company: Angulo Records. They are based in Argentina.

We have one recent user, Miguel AKA sunkingrecords, who has one and is learning to use it.

http://angulorecords.com/

Apparently the company it is run by a guy named Raul. Is he not a member here?

There are a few threads that address the lathe, all by Miguel. Is it possible that the other users of the lathe are not on this site? Is it a language problem?

Hi Steve!

I can add that I don't know anybody else who has the machine.
I'm still learning, as you said. At the moment, I don't have the system fully installed (I lacked a proper turntable at first, working on that now, and also lacking the heat lamps and a good vacuum for the chip pickup), so I can't confirm good results on the machine, but mostly by my fault.

I have an on/off comunication with this guy Raul, because he is at the moment relocating to another country, but he has been helpful at first when I made the first attemps. For example, I haven't seen the last video where he explains the "automatization" controls (the part with the USB drive, which by the way only reads MP3 :( ).

I'm not sure if he knows about this forum.

About the virgin records, I don't like them too much, as they tend to warp easily and are very light. I can ship you a few if you or someone wants to try them. I could use a second opinion on the quality of the material.

Kind regards

Miguel
I choose not to run .-

Thanks for the offer! Send them to someone else to test. I am not up and running enough at present to help.

I extended an invite to Raul today. He should be here.

Love the design, but would have been easy enough to have included a vacuum system, not unlike Souri's VinylRecorder. Also, the torque will probably be an issue if you're going to be putting significant weight on the cutterhead / platter. Maybe not for 7", but definitely anything with a bigger diameter. However, looks like Raul included lots of great features. Love the automatic system. That's one thing I would like to have with my vinylrecorder. However, even tho VR is fully manual, I'm getting great results. Can't complain!!

Good luck, Miguel!! Beautiful looking machine!

he sells the whole unit , or just the cutter head or just the amp.
so that's cool for some of us that just need the head and amp.

email him to see for your selves.

Do you have some new results, almost 1 year after?
I dont know anyone who get this machines too, i hear some sounds, look'n great, but i think the better view is the point who really have one and tell us... Think you're the chosen one.. ahahah

Recording a recycled vinyl discs with chemical AS

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cMlJp9xUFGc
A former Christian music disc is erased with the chemical AS,
eliminating old regristros slots enabling new records , in this case registered ELECTRONIC MUSIC " TRANCE "

Interesting!

So with this chemical you are able to strip away the top layer of a pressed record and then cut it?
And you are able to cut it with a Sapphire?

On the video the chip looks white or clear - is this a byproduct of the chemical used?
I would have though chip from a pressed black record would have been black no?

Please let us know more details and like The Shank said please make videos where we can hear more - a direct recording from the audio output of the turntable playing back the record - not from a camera mic if you can do it would be amazing!

Very interested to find out more, as someone who's likes to recycle, the prospect of recycling old records to be able to use for Lathe Cuts is VERY VERY APPEALING!

Thanks Raul!

I can suppose that record was just covered by that fluid "pvc-secret-formula" and old grooves still there ))
Best !
