Looking to buy 2-4 presses/ lathe

We are looking for a cutting lathe and 2-4 presses, as well as galvanic baths. We are a small operation based in Athens, GA, USA. Our group is comprised of a financial investor and accountant, so we understand the costs and complications of beginning a plant. A mechanical engineer who has a strong background in hydrolics, stream generating, fluid dynamics, and electrical engineering. And several other partners with varying fields of interest. So we need it all. We are in the process of making arrangements for an industrial space, but that is the extent of our progress so far. We are looking for everything from star to finish, with the exception of packaging, as we already have equipment and facilities for printing. 2 7" presses, 2 12" presses. Lathe, plating equipment. We would prefer equipment located in the USA, but we understand that this is unlikely, and we are prepared to arrange shipping. Any help in locating equipment and getting a rough estimate on total pricing would be greatly appreciated.

Hi - Good luck with the search, you should be able to find Presses in the US fairly quickly, there seems to be a lot more gear floating around over there from people who've got it around laying idle
- Thomas on here usually knows of something for sale, Mossboss always knows of something hiding - you can be sure something will turn up sooner rather than later....

Hope you find something ,

Best of luck form the UK,

CC.

If you want a restored lathe talk to Al Grundy. I can PM you his cell number if you want. A VMS70 has a street value of 20K. It will cost an additional 10K to have one restored. Let me know if you want Al's contact info. He is the lathe guru here in the USA. Very few people have his skill or knowledge.

Ok Brave man
Look if you can scratch up 4-450,000 euros I think I can still get you a complete plant with everything included
Lock stock and a smoking pvc extruder or 2
Now there would be another 30-40 K euros for tranasport and it is exactly what you are looking for
4 x 12" and 2 x 7" presses plus a couple of spare 12 that need work but nothing major Granulator steam air pipes cables electrics galvanics cutting lathe cooling tower hydraulics centering machine polishing table racks trays etc etc etc
Take a few videos with your bunch of what seem to be very sound guys and replicate the installation at the other end
A few cans of spray paint at the joints of various connections with different colours of course make the task quite easy choose the right colours they can even stay there afterwards
So how good are your numbers man?
It should be a start up within 4 weeks after landing in the good old USA as it is all there and SEE it running TODAY until the end of the year when the whole setup will go into storage so as to be mothballed
The alternative of course is a few machines from wherever and about 6-12 months of farking around so as to get them in some kind of shape with about the same cost apart from a good ready cash drain as no production and a never ending stream of problems and issues that always seem to be part and partial of setting up with a moteley bunch of gear that has been bastardized over many years and nothing is what it supposed to be
Ask Gota Groove or Accoustic sounds They will give you the real story man No fear Dont take my word for it
So back to you and let all of us know how you get on man
Cheers
Chris

@mossi
uh, 4-450 k, thats a lot of money...
how many records do you have to press, to
get this money back?
IMHO, the time is over, to move plants arround the world...
or you have enough money to do this just for fun...

and yes, be aware of strange machines, waiting arround for
endless setup... you will get grey hairs :)

Hey Andy
It all depends what you charge for records mate at .25 euro for a 7 inch a farking long time but some people do it as you well know
Moving plans around the world its no big deal really
Have a look at the printing press game/industry
They do it all the time they are much more complex set up than a few record presses
Just by the way the price mentioned is the asking price for Vinylium in Belgium It is no secret in our world any way the pressing plants that is
I do not have any financial interest in there at all
Jonathan has been advertising the sale of the plant widely
By the way for a set-up like he has you would not get any change from that any way taking into account the time it will take to get up and running fixing repairing and all that stuff
Cheers
Chris
