Stereo cutting head project enclosure $45!

Hey,

I've been working on creating a low cost cutter for DIY enthusiasts, and I've been trying to think of some creative ways to fund the project. So I figured I'd have a few extra parts manufactured and see if anyone wants them to start experimenting on their own. I figured it would be a good way to raise some funds while maybe getting some input from the community on the design.

I'm selling these for $45 a piece, which includes shipping. They're made of 1/8" aluminum, and are made to have a set of small tweeters attached to them. PM me if interested.

Hey there. The surface area of the sides with the holes are 2"x2" up to where it bends. The holes have a diameter of 1.5".

I designed them with these in mind, but could really work with anything similar.

Kickstarter would be your best bet. That's the best place to get your project funded. Please take a look. I'd back you if you go for it.
The project could be funded by lathe trolls members.

Are you referring to the metal shoulder bolt or just the weight in general? The bolt is definitely the wildcard in the design right now. After to talking to Markrob some, I'm considering switching it out for something more light weight.

Wow man, that was quick work! Its so cool to see people doing stuff with these.

What are you using for the screw and the stylus holder? That looks like a good way to go, I'd like to try something similar.

I'd really like to, I just need to figure out a design for it, and once I do I can have some manufactured. I really want to sell it as a complete head that DIYers can get started with. I was thinking I could sell these housings to sort of get the community talking about them and giving input on the design.

why don't you just copy what Neumann or westrex did ? your frame is similar in shape.
do you have the book "Audio encyclopedia"
it shows a lot of pictures and diagrams.

I don't. I googled it and couldn't find anything. Who's the publisher? I'd love to see an up close view of the Neumann/Westrex design.
