It didn't sell for 30k so now they try for 35k...Russian logic
Re: Ebay: Neumann VMS70
In the back on one of the pics looks like an SAL rack with Amps. Wonder if it's included?
If so, maybe there's a head too?
Funny how shipping went from $200 - $500....
The warning signs are coming out!

Amp and head are not included in the sale....they say they have it but are "selling it when ready" whatever that means...

Man, unfortunate for the buyer.
Looking forward to seeing how it plays out.
I hope the dialogue is followed through till the end here on Lathe trolls.

Re: Ebay: Neumann VMS70
I'm not sure I should share this here or not, but I spoke with this seller all last week about this lathe. The only question I got a real answer about was that the lathe doesn't include cutting head and amp.
When I started to ask other questions like:
Is there a vacuum pump/chip jar included?
Which programming modules are included in the top drawer of lathe console: 16 2/3, 22 1/2, 33 1/3, 45, 78?
Which pitch control cards are installed, Neumann, Zuma Audio?
The standard answer I kept getting for these questions was: I'll tell you tomorrow. Then tomorrow came and went; I'll tell you on Wednesday. Then Wednesday came and went. I'll tell you on Friday...ect.
Don't know what to make of any of this, but either this seller is hoping to get someone on all the glitz and glamour of buying a Neumann lathe; to hell with everything else technical about it-OR-they aren't at all really knowledgeable about what they are selling other than they know it's a Neumann and that it must be worth a fortune!
I for one am going to buy a lathe on the basis that it's a tool.....a tool of the trade. Frankly, I'd like to know what it's got for electronics/cards. I might bitch about the asking price, but based on what is included/installed in it will determine what I'll offer for it. But at the very least, I would expect the seller to level with me about exactly what they're selling!
I could have sworn that this lathe sold about a year ago and I'm now wondering what happened with that deal?
Unless somebody else here knows this seller, based on my dealings with this seller last week, I'm convinced that there really isn't a lathe here for sale at all.

I sold them this system in 2009. It came with Ortofon cutting amps originally and out of Germany.
Yes I also thought it was listed on eBay and sold in the past.
There is no reason not to trust them. They have quite the arsenal of gear.
