Hi folks. I have a pair of 16" transcription turntables for sale. I had them listed on another audio site, and one of your members suggested I post them here. Both came from the estate of a retired radio station engineer. I was told that these were daily drivers for him at one point, but it's been a few years since they were used. They are both guaranteed to work, but will probably need the usual cleaning, lubrication, that sort of thing. These are located in Milwaukee, WI. They will fit in a minivan, pickup, van, truck, and some SUVs, but are too big for a car.
#1 is a Fairchild Model 750 16" transcription turntable, one of the nicest turntables ever made, at least in that era. This comes with a few extra belts and a Shure SME 3012 tonearm with the connector cable. The cartridge is a Stanton or something else unimportant. This is in great shape with light to moderate overall wear--a few nicks/scrapes here and there, but nothing too bad. I'm asking $7000 on this one. Pictures are here.
#2 is a Presto A-64 16" transcription turntable. It has two motors and comes with an OWL 1 phono preamp and two Gray Research transcription tonearms. The cartridges are Stantons or something else unimportant. This is in great shape with light to moderate overall wear--a few nicks/scrapes here and there, but nothing too bad. The top has holes drilled for different arms, though the Gray Research bases hide them fairly well. I'm asking $6000 on this one. Pictures are here.
These are also currently listed on eBay and Craigslist--you may have seen them there. I know I'm new here, but I do have a fairly good reputation on eBay and Audiokarma, and I'll be glad to chat on the phone or whatever if you'd like. I cannot ship these myself, but you're welcome to come by and pick them up or arrange for movers to get them. They are heavy but not too hard to move. If I sell either or both of these on this site, I will contribute 5% of the final sale price to the site.
