no, the AM32 (also the VMS-70) cannot cut inside out, because the spindle feed
moves the carrige only in one direction (to the left side).
for those, who don´t know, the AM32 was the previous model of the VMS-70,
the mechanic is mostly the same.
What I like is, that you have manual switches in front of the machine, to
switch between 7"/10"/12" size for cutting, the tiny "automatic" switches in the back
of the VMS-70 are a constant source of problems, and not easy to maintain.

Very informative to some I can say, to me is a well known fact
Yes the micros in the back do give some problems however they are extremely long lived and reliable, we just used the last of the 4 spares which are on the machine from new
Ours has cut a lot of sides let me say and for a machine made so long ago it's fantastic
By the way the "Start cutting inside out" meant to be a joke not a serious question

Used an AM 32 B ( the one with the cursor dial for LPI ) at CBS London in the early 70's You used the ammeter movement to estimate the pitch and you had to put a shim
on the end diameter stop lever when cutting a 7 inch ! It worked really well , but you had to look at the belts carefully, they used to slip...Pete

Great stuff Inside out cuts, I have a box of 18" lacquers that I have kept in a safe environment for years, they are pristine and they will cut well, If any one wishes to cut a transcription lacquer inside out Ill pack and send them ONE on the proviso they upload whatever they put on it on a platform accessible to all and sundry
Any one here up for it? LMK
