Scully Lathe for Sale

My friend and I are selling a Scully Lathe on eBay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290327442373

We bought it in 2002, but it didn't have a cutterhead or amplifiers, so we were never able to use it.

WOW! What a beauty!
one day I will buy something like this... even if I'll have to go to the States.

just curious... for how much did you buy this beast? just to compare it with the final pice on eBay...

anyway... good luck! :)

It depends on what you want to have... either mono or stereo
mono - shouldn't be expensive (presto or grampian or any better but old cutterhead with the right amp) - check the eBay
stereo - little more expensive but affordable if you take vinylium (check www.vinylium.ch ) and even more expensive if you take the original neumann or westrex head

It went for a very reasonable $1725. If I was on the West coast instead of the East I might have thought to jump in at that price level.

Best regards,
Steve Berson

Scully Lathe price

Yep
I would have thought about the right price
By the time you debug it put the amps on it as well as a stereo cutting head on it you will be up around the $8-10 K mark and that will be about the real value of this machine
Deroy sold his for $4,500 K running with a mono head but a couple of amps included One mono original and another stereo
The last ES head Van Dyke sold NOS went for just over $1K recently and two SX 68's in the UK about GBP 1250 each or about $2.5 K
Cheers

I am surprised there was not more interest with the Atlanta Scully earlier this year with the Capps pitch and stereo head.
