Hey Guys
At least it is a well travelled one Its not so long ago that Sergey posted here with questions about cutting and all the normal stuff from noobies
It seems that he got it on ebay got a stylus from Apollo had no where to fit the stylus or the arm, for that matter, found out that he needs to spend the next ten years Vodka money to get going so its back on the market
I think he paid $250 for the arm and around the $60 for the stylus plus transport to Moscow or wherever he is in Russia with a bit of import duty as well he would be close to getting his money back if any one buys it of course
So here we have another sad story really of someone having a go and finding it a bit harder than it seems throws his arms up in the air and wants out
Arghhh
Cheers

You could use a lot of different presto heads... the most common are 1-Cs ($175) and 1-Ds ($275). I've got some other random presto head I'd sell for $50. You would need a HEAVY duty transcription turntable for it... you wouldn't be able to use a Technics 1210, and probably not even an SP-10. Because the turntable has that heavy load in the middle, you need a LOT LOT LOT of torque. I regretted buying my overhead until I met a dude who is currently modifying a 6d turntable to fit with my 6n overhead.

Because he paid a lot for it. Unfortunately it's just not WORTH that, Sergey. Not around these parts anyways. :-/cymbalism wrote:No disrespect but why do you want so much for this arm? An entire 6n just sold on eBay with the cutterhead for under $400.
I bought a Vespa for $1500 and it turned out to be a total piece of crap Asian Restoration that fell apart after a week of riding. I ended up selling it for $600 to a guy who was going to put it on the wall in his italian restaurant. And by that point, I was glad to be rid of it.

If you are mechanically inclined, you can get around that problem. Just drive the mechanism from an external motor rather than using the turntable to do so. I grabbed a jpg from an ebay auction of a frankenlathe that did this with an 8DG (I think that's what this model was).piaptk wrote:You would need a HEAVY duty transcription turntable for it... you wouldn't be able to use a Technics 1210, and probably not even an SP-10. It would actually give you more flexibility since you would need only one feedscrew for various pitches.
