ebay and paypal cost me f** huge lot of money, 15% to be precise, also it is not anything I'll pay, paypal's currency exchange rates are def crazy,
so of course locals with cash can have this set way cheaper, you're welcome too, I can help with visas
we'll have nice weekend and meet cosmonautics museum here too, you would like all this crazy russian machined stuff around,
some talented people deep in a country still alive and can do magic just sit on the knee

Nice! I was watching that auction for ages and wondered why it was so expensive, but knowing it will come with the overhead it makes it all right.
So with the Fairchild overhead and (well working?) Stereo-Cutter this seems to be a good starter kit which would make nice one off records.
Price is in the range of a vinylrecorder and I guess the setup can/will produce similair results. 3 diamonds are also nice!
BTW, if you're looking for really expensive DIY cutterhead then check http://mantra.audio/pricing/
ok, you can choose the color so it is defenetly worth the $
(don't mix up with http://www.mantra-audio.co.uk/ a audio supplier in business since 1989)
same guy is also running http://cutterhead.repair/
(also don't mix up with http://www.cutterheadrepair.com/ a well known man in the industry for years...)
sorry for the confusion...

No confusion at all. The "guy" you mention is our very own Opcode66.
How much would you pay for a brand new stereo feedback cutterhead and a Pre-Amp that comes packed with negative feedback summing, IRIAA, forward compensation, a phono Pre-Amp, RIAA/IRIAA enable/disable switches, clean power, shielded cabling, 4 calibration trimmers per channel, and a 3 position monitor selector switch?? http://mantra.audio/pricing/
Not to mention the technical support and warranty?

I know. The "guy" you mention is our very own Opcode66
So if opcode asks 3.8k it is ok, and if somebody else does it is a rip off??
BTW, there is no serious proof of the mantra head (at least to me), nor technical data or something.
How long does it last? One youtube viedoe? a whole side?
people sell known quality stereo feedback cutterheads for less...
but everybody should do what he/she feels comfortable with!
I just wanted to show other options.
And I also wanted to show that (IMHO unprofessional) website/name thingy...
