Custom system with Presto 1D, RCA Lathe, Stanton STR8 & extras
I'm selling a custom Vinyl Record lathe system. This is originally home-built with both vintage and modern components, some homemade. I am not the original owner, but when purchased from a seller in 2018 everything functioned properly and I have successfully cut records for a few projects since.
The cutterhead needs a new stylus in order to cut records that don't sound like shit. The included styli are damaged, and the records come out scratchy and static. They can likely be resharpened though.
It features a Presto 1D cutterhead attached to a lathe made by RCA, built on a modern high-torque turntable. The lathe can be fed by any source with an RCA connection; you could feed the signal from a computer, a mixer, a mic preamp, or even your phone with an 1/8" to RCA cable.
Here's a video example of a record cut on the machine:

Here's a breakdown of what's included:
• Homemade wooden platter/frame
• Stanton STR8.150 turntable
• Presto 1D Cutterhead
• 2 extra styli (need resharpening or replacing)
• RCA "Instantaneous Recorder" vinyl record lathe
• Preamp with Stereo RCA ins > Mono RCA out, & level control
• Cutterhead control box - heat and head controls
• Marantz MA500 mono amplifier (for cutterhead drivers)
• Heating lamp, temperature reader
• Spare 7" transparent cutting blanks, paper sleeves, and plastic sleeves
• Can provide a rolling flight case for the preamp/amplifier/head control box if desired.
Asking $2000 obo. Happy to show the item, but can't really demonstrate a cut without ordering new cutterheads/fixing them. Would prefer a local pickup in Massachusetts, USA. I am willing to meet within reason in the Northeast US, and will consider shipping if the buyer handles shipping costs.
