Hi Trolls,
Further to my previous post, due to the high level of interest in this SP10, and in order to avoid having to repeat writing individual responses, here’s a little more information.

The Technics SP-10, was released in Japan around 1969, and is a classic “Golden Era” turntable with a stellar reputation for quality. The SP-10 was the first turntable in the world to feature a direct drive system, developed by Technics engineers and subsequently used by turntable makers globally. With its quartz-locked servo speed control, this turntable made its way into many professional settings, such as studios and broadcasting rooms, which demanded the highest possible quality of turntable. With impressive technical specs, such as a wow and flutter of < 0.03% WRMS, the SP-10 was released to critical acclaim and has achieved a phenomenal reputation in the following years. The SP-10’s exceptional sound and outstanding build quality are commonly expressed by critics as its winning features

A little background :- Without the need for Hyperbole, (The Specs speak for themselves) as Turntable Drives go, for use as the basis for a Recording Lathe, and to use English vernacular expressions, the SP10 is considered to be “The Mutts Nuts” or “The Poodles Privates” or “The Dogs Bollocks” in other words in more conventional English :- incomparable, without an equal in quality or extent; matchless, supreme, best, unique, superior, consummate, excellent, eminent, immutable and incommensurable. Nuff Said???
This SP-10 Mk11 was purchased by me with the intention of using it in combination with an MSS Overhead, as the Basis of a Recording/Record Cutting Lathe. I believe it was previously used in a Broadcast Studio. The SH-10E Power Supply is connected to the Turntable through what I believe to be a Second Unit which was probably used for Studio Broadcast monitoring (Please see Photo’s). It is in no way detrimental to the performance of the combined SP-10 / SH-10E set-up, and could be removed by the buyer if so required. Sadly due to failing health, I have neither the time nor inclination to undertake the removal of the intermediate second unit. This turntable is in very good condition, with some signs of age and use throughout (see pictures), including some very light scratches, and as is common with the Technics SP-10 a small amount of oxidation of the Turntable “Paint/Lacquer” Finish. All Speed Settings work perfectly, and the Platter Rotation is stable.

So fellow Trolls, I do not seek to profit by the sale of this item, simply to recoup my own considerable (£1200) outlay. Do your research see and see what SP10’s in good condition bring.
