Tom Waits has put out a 78
Tom Waits has put out a new 78... (even though it's vinyl, and it costs $50 but it's supposed to be for benefit of Preservation Hall in New Orleans)

...and jazz pianist Bryan Wright has put out a set of 2 new 78s on Rivermont... (cut with Direct Metal Mastering, a.k.a. "shallowest grooves ever", kinda silly for a 78, but still very cool looking )

We need to give them a handful of 78-shaped stellite home recording stylii, & get Mossboss to sell them some of his sacks of original 78 record material, so they can make them hand-crankable...

Ah, interesting... I've collected over 8,000 78's back as a kid when I had the time (strictly later 1920s-50s) and didn't know that, but I guess it makes sense since he was etching with acid, the narrow trail where the needle pushed through the acid-resistant coating down to the metal base, if I remember right...emorritt wrote:Just like original Berliners(cut with Direct Metal Mastering, a.k.a. Those are some AWESOME labels--!
We're looking to debut a label for our work (when we get our first 78 pressed)--and would LOVE to have someone design a vintage-looking label such as this for us...
If anyone would like to try--feel free to let me know.
