Now that vinyl sales are projected to sell 140 million units in 2017 and with sales nearing the $1 billion benchmark for the first time this millennium it’s time to take advantage of pressing plants’ collective power and best practices in easing the economics of manufacturing records.

The MEDIA-TECH Vinyl Workgroup is convening for the first time in Eindhoven on June 4th to set the industry agenda and provide a networking platform under the umbrella of the MEDIA-TECH Association along with the support of the ‚Making Vinyl‘ Alliance.

Key Objectives:

Presenting & Supporting the Green Vinyl Project
Celebrating Vinyl as physical media’s shining star in the digital age
Deliver need-to-know info about Vinyl manufacturing challenges, opportunities
Provide useful state-of-the-art info for mutual interests along the Vinyl supply chain, including retailers, labels, pressing plants, consumable suppliers, packagers, musicians and online merchants
Provide networking opportunities for these diverse groups to meet each other and forge new relationships
The MEDIA-TECH Vinyl Workgroup website will offer members of the vinyl industry and press a single point resource for glossary of vinyl terms, and more information and education in vinyl sourcing and manufacturing.

We at Symcon, along with the collaboration of seven other Dutch companies, formed Green Vinyl Records with a common goal: to reduce the amount of energy and waste within the vinyl record manufacturing process by developing a durable plastics and a clean, low-energy injection molding process. At the conference, in our nearby test center, you will get to experience a live demonstration of our fully automatic Green Vinyl Records injection molding technology as we discuss our concept of a faster, more energy efficient, and cleaner production then that of a standard pressing machine.

This conference will offer an excellent opportunity for the media manufacturing value chain, as well as physical media enthusiasts to meet, connect and take part in the physical media resurgence.
