Deep Grooves Mastering - Plastic Cutting Video Guide

A spot for keeping track of especially cool (informative, fun) videos, photos, scans and other links about record cutting. (You can post them in other sections. Eventually they may end up here.) NOTE: Please put *Circuits, Schematics and Manuals* in the section with that name.

I will have alternate translations into other languages coming soon. If not as subtitles than as alternate audio tracks.

LOLzzzzz

I know, weird. And, it takes getting used to working with them on. I wear gloves to cut lacquer as well. No prints on anything. Makes scope use easier to read with no prints on what you are looking at.

Nitrile gloves are anti-static. White rubber medical gloves are not. In fact white rubber gloves create static charge.

Two themes for the video: avoid static and be gentle as possible with your styli.

Thanks for taking the time and making the effort to do this video T.
It's an excellent guide ;)

One question... you mentioned the potential for channel cross-talk if you don't have the diamond stylus aligned correctly.
Would you expect this cross-talk to be 'weighted' in one direction or another depending upon the direction of mis-alignment?

In other words, if the diamond wasn't straight, the cross-talk would be greater L-to-R than R-to-L (or visa-versa).

Thanks again!

I appreciate the feedback. Thanks.

I will continue to share and grow with the community. I feel a true connection with this medium. I want to insure disc recording always remains a viable option. Maybe even make it easier and less cost prohibitive for new cutters. Let's all keep those turntables turning.

I'll have more new stuff soon! For now, I posted two new videos:
