"He Who Lathes Best" - Article on Scullys

A spot for keeping track of especially cool (informative, fun) videos, photos, scans and other links about record cutting. (You can post them in other sections. Eventually they may end up here.) NOTE: Please put *Circuits, Schematics and Manuals* in the section with that name.

Very eye-opening, as others have doubtless mentioned. I would have loved, however, to see which model numbers were manufactured when. (Such as the 501 lathe manufactured from the late 1930's through the late '40's, and the 601 which was first unveiled in 1955 - I'm still searching for the model number of the first automatic lathe introduced in late '50.) Still, the ups and downs of this iconic company are an interesting read.

Interesting how the basic shape took hold with the set of 20 lathes they made for RCA Victor between 1934 and 1937 (I saw the RCA manual in which the schematic of Scullys, including scale drawings, was dated 1935).
