Sales sheet for mythical Presto S1 stereo 45/45 head

A spot for keeping track of especially cool (informative, fun) videos, photos, scans and other links about record cutting. (You can post them in other sections. Eventually they may end up here.) NOTE: Please put *Circuits, Schematics and Manuals* in the section with that name.

I have this same sales sheet. I don't think they were ever manufactured and sold. This was too late in Presto's existence and they would have been trying to circumvent both Neumann and Westrex patents at the time. The head is sitting on the end that would attach to the lathe and the knob at the top adjusts the advance ball. I'm also not aware that Presto ever made any stereo amplifiers - for recording or playback. Possible exception might be for their tape recorders. Alan Graves might know more.

Here's a bad-quality scan of the S1 on an 8GV - surprisingly hefty compared to something like a 1D. The literature says: "The Presto Model 8GV cutting lathe can be equipped at the factory with either the Presto Model S1 stereophonic cutter head (S1 system also includes recording amplifiers and feedback system) or the Presto Model 1D monophonic cutter head. In addition, the Presto Model 161A Automatic Equalizer is available for use with the A93 Amplifier."
