'Basic Disc Mastering' Soon To Go Out of Print
I am on here as Uncle Larry, but in real life I am Larry Boden, publisher of Basic Disc Mastering. I am sorry to say that the book will go out of print by the end of the year when present stocks are sold.
Re: Basic Disc Mastering
Unless what? Will it just be public domain and offered in a printable version ? I think a few of us should post pics of our wrecked bloody old copies of the thing and you'll see you should keep on printing

Uncle Lary/ Mr. Borden
I for one am extremely happy to have mine
If I could afford another atm I would get a backup for sure.
Thnk you so much for the updated 2nd edition !!!
I wish you could be on this forum more <3
----------------------------------------
gridlock: I am guessing since once before, this most generous man said he coincided it pd maybe the revised one will be too?
Even at the price it is now its cheap!!!
I suspect there was NOT a 300% mark up for final sales. Meaning not enough money made from sales to support further private publishing. Do to an overly generous heart
I might suggest upping it a bit for the last dozen or so.
An Art book/collectible indeed
Maybe a kickstart or the like for donations to do a second printing in 2017-18
Cheers

I started cutting in the 60's at Rite Records in Cincinnati, first using the ES-59 cutterhead, then the SX 15, SX 45 and finally the SX-68. Moved to Nashville in 1969 for NRP. There we had both Westrex and Neumann systems.
Went to MCA in California in 1976, then to the JVC Cutting Center in 1980.
In 1988 I got interested in Laser Beam mastering for CD's.
I am now retired in Cincinnati, where I spend my days enjoying exotic single malt scotchs, as well as my SAE and Marantz stereo system.

Glade to have mine, very content with it.
Re: Basic Disc Mastering
Ah your book has provided me incredibly valuable insight and information into many cutting systems and practices.
I can't thank you enough.
