Re: i need help to build a good lathe recorder
I suggest hitting up piaptk (Mike) and seeing if he has any heads sitting in the lathe cave. He usually does but it depends on what work they may need to get them rocking again.
Mike - Still interested in one of those 5C's when you get around to it. =)

Re: i need help to build a good lathe recorder
Have you tried to spin it by Hand and then switch on the Motor? (really spin fast - at least 78rpm...)my lyrec need som tlc the motor dosent seem to work it jump when you start and then no moren
I imagine the lyrec uses a synchronous Motor that does not start on ist own, you have to do by Hand!
Same as with old neumann and telefunken portable lathes...
Check if it is 110V or 220V !
Give it a try!
And if not I'm more than happy to give it a nice place in my lathe museum
Cheers
