digitised standard test records
Greetings, site search revealed NO .wav or .flac files of any standard test record with a constant amplitude sweep or a squarewave. Surprising. Anyone have one to put on dropbox? cheers, Madirishman (old buddy of Ricker's)

Hello,
What's the intended use of a digital copy of a test record?

I want to examine aspects of the data for scientific reasons, not commercial usage.

Hi,
I can't imagine what information you would be able to get from a digital copy of a playback from a test record. At a bare minimum, you would need to know the conditions under which that the capture was done (e.g. pickup output vs. velocity, preamp gain, system frequency response, distortion levels) to name a few. Can you be more specific what you are trying to do here?
NAB did make a test CD series. Maybe that is what you need:

Thanks for your interest, Mark.
Sorry, for reasons of IP, I do not wish to be more specific except to register my disagreement with your statement on the requirement of knowing minimum conditions.

Hi,
No problem. Good luck with your project. Have you considered picking up a copy of a test record on eBay and doing the transfer yourself? They come up pretty often in various conditions. Is there a specific test record you are looking for (e.g. one of the CBS STR series)?
