Vanrock with Sapphire - Turtle Wax

Hi all, I finally got my Vanrock machine working yesterday for the first time. Made 2 or 3 pretty good cuts from the first 8 sides. So not too bad to start me off.
I found the turtle wax is almost drying out on the record and turning into clay/putty once I apply heat to it.
I can't see that this is helping much once it gets like this.
Is this normal?
THANK YOU!

You are supposed to wipe off the turtle wax before you cut. You are just polishing the surface with it. I personally use lighter fluid instead. It works just as well and way less messy.
