Wow! How are you making the cutting stylus and how long can it cut for?

I do it with plotter needles set at the right angles, they last a few hours and break the tip very easily

Excellent report, Juba. A few questions, if I might:
1. Is your grinding fixture really hand-held as it appears in the photos? Would it benefit from a more solid and precision-indexed holder for the diamond bit?
2. Can you link us to a source for the diamond engraving bits that you have found most appropriate?
3. Are you considering limited production of these styli for the rest of us who are not so clever?
Good work! Please keep us informed.

I do the roughing in this simple way, today I improved the tool that holds the needle a little and gives the right angles ... for roughing I use grinding wheels made of printed circuit board, I use the copper side up with diamond polishing paste . This system works well for tungsten carbide and sapphires
