you know, i mean the small dents in record surface caused by dirt getting between the mould and the stamper during pressing.
the knock they cause on playback is usually masked by signal, but sometimes they can "knock" as an extra kick drum
what is the "industry name" for these?

We always called it a dimple. Our American friends might call it a divot.
They will sound like a low frequency thump, as per your comparison to a kick drum
The question is... why are you getting them? How do you clean the mould and the back of the stamper?
