Looking for pc or pvc blanks in the US

This is where record cutters raise questions about cutting, and trade wisdom and experiment results. We love Scully, Neumann, Presto, & Rek-O-Kut lathes and Wilcox-Gay Recordios (among others). We are excited by the various modern pro and semi-pro systems, too, in production and development. We use strange, extinct disc-based dictation machines. And other stuff, too.

Looking for pc or pvc blanks in the US

Hey, all... long time lurker, first time posting :)

I am searching for a source of blanks in the US... mosty so I don't have to deal with currency conversion.

I have been cutting dubplate/lacquers on a Vinylium lathe for a bit. Now I am starting to do diamond cut to PC and PVC blanks... for durability and for sale as short runs/one-offs

I am probably going to order a diamond from Vinylike. I might order blanks from them, but I'd like to get blanks from someone in the US. Looking for mostly 7" (small hole), but 10" and 12" as well, precut and predrilled preferrably.

Anybody supply blanks in the US?

I just found this posting from Corporate Records from last year...

https://lathetrolls.com/viewtopic.php?t=2788&highlight=blanks&mforum=lathetrolls

So, um, still the same prices? Looking for probably a box of 30 7" to start.

I didn't know anyone in Seattle had a dubcutter. I'm in Olympia. I buy blanks from Plastic Supply in Fife. I generally just buy an 8'x4' sheets and pay them to cut them into squares. This only works for 7 and 8"s though. If you need LPs, you have to pay them to cut them on a CNC or Laser router, which will double the price if not more.

I'll probably order them cut into discs from somewhere, squares don't appeal to me much, except possibly for learning, test cuts. Thanks for the idea.

Yep, been at it since around 2006(?) or so. My friend is a studio engineer who owns a Vinylium cutter/gear with some outboard gear. I've been the technical guy, the one learning to cut. He does mastering for vinyl in-house in the main studio, then I cut in a dedicated studio room. I've done all my learning by reading and research and trial and error. I've been getting some decent results on dubplates. I am making the leap to cutting PC now.
