Re: WTB: Rek-O-Kut M5S Adjustable Center part
If you have a machinist make one, i would be interested in buying one or two as well. You might also be able to buy some brass or aluminum tubing the correct size and jb wel a ball bearing in the end.

Re: I NEED HELP: Starting Non Profit Independent Recod Creation From Scratch (Pun Intended)
I second Bob's advice. You can do it cheap if you want, but at least pay yrself Burger King wages. For something like this, look around for local or state arts grants. I've been selling lathes to a fair number of people lately that have managed to get $10K in free money to buy a lathe if they submit...

I'd be interested to see your suction system. 6Ns are difficult to get the suction tube behind the stylus.

Re: Question for Presto 6N operators regarding overhead set-up
I had a similar issue the other week where my grooves were slowly fading away into the centre. With my 6n if I manage to get something to play all the way through I don’t try to touch too much I feel like soon as a change too much it will take me days to get back to that point. It’s hard to explain...

Try our embossing styli on polycarbonate. We get a pretty low noise floor when weight and angle are correct. https://www.recordlatheparts.com/collections/styli

You might also consider coming to one of my www.lathecutcamp.com. There is no better way to understand all the different mechanical nuances of these machines than to actually put your hands on one and use it. I have quite a few different types of machines in the studio and go into the different desi...

Reach out to Cash Carter. He is intimately familiar with Warmtones and does independent consulting for record pressing plants. He does it for a living and requires a reasonable rate for his time and expertise, but he is extremely knowledgeable. You may have to talk the pressing plant into investing ...

Re: Any opinions/experience on the RCA Mi-12701?
If you haven't already found this, start here before you start blowing through styli and blanks. THe one that is in there is most likely an old steel stylus and totally worthless.

Federal Recorder Art Deco Lathe replacement outside In feedscrew
yo! I got stuck with one of those beautiful art deco Federal Recorders, but the feedscrew was inside out, making it relatively useless. It was also 78 only. I am using one of Jed's external belt drive motors, so speed was taken care of, but that feedscrew was a serious issue. So I sent it to my mach...

What do you mean by “landsurfing” exactly? Playback stylus skating? Or riding between horns on the side of the groove? What embossing styli are you using?

Re: Converting R-O-K lathe with (TKV) stereo head
Jed in Poland makes a lot of mods that would help with modding a ROK for diamond cutting, and I sell those mods along with being a US distributor for TKV stereo cutterheads. a ROK is probably the least expensive lathe that will handle diamond cutting for stereo. So, if that is your absolute goal and...
