Caruso swarf clearance
I am trying to work out how to remove swarf from under a Caruso head. It looks pretty tight down there!
I can see a 5mm curved recess... does the tube go there? What sort of tube is normally used? Does anyone have the dims?
Finbarr Saunders would have a field day with this post!

Re: Caruso swarf clearance
There should be plenty of room since you have the 7-degree back angle.
Maybe on VRs, you don't use that piece, but you're free to set the angle as needed.
The curved milling was only implemented in the first series and is essentially useless, so it must be an early version.
Removing chips from the side is completely outdated, and I can't recommend it.
Instead, use 6mm x 0.2mm inox tubes (cheap drink straws replacement 6 for 5 bucks), flattened in the first 50-60mm.
That should work perfectly fine.

Re: Caruso swarf clearance
Cutting on a Vr,Caruso head angle 9/10 degree with pressed blanks and enough space to set the vacuum tube, otherwise hammer it I little bit in th last part
Re: Caruso swarf clearance
I was still making adjustments on this picture Angle it s not correct, just to show you the space left to set properly.
I did hammer a bit the Vacuum tube and fit perfectly.
