If it was a press in it's previous life, maybe it could be converted into one now? 6 tonne is plenty. Looks like it is super slow opening and closing though.

This is a standard compression molding press with heated platens
If you observe the bottom platen it seems to still have the heating elements so as to cure materials like Bakelite, urea formaldehyde and the like thermosetting plastics
Not that it would not press records either but by the time you retrofitted it it would be a marginal task and you still have a very slow press
